Some people in Antalya distributed fake press cards to citizens as if they were official cards. It was claimed that they collected a total of 600 thousand liras in this way. Many ‘press cards’ were found in a police raid.
It was determined that the suspects, who were found to be publishing news via social media applications under the name Kriminal Polis Haber Gazetesi (Criminal Police News Newspaper) belonging to the Istanbul-based Contemporary Police Retirees Solidarity Association, had irregularly issued press cards and press vehicle cards.
Ali C., Enes B., Kadir B., Ali., Uğur K. and Hakan T., who collected a total of 600 thousand Turkish Liras from citizens by issuing fake cards, were detained.
While a judicial investigation was initiated against the six suspects for the crimes of ‘qualified fraud’ and ‘forgery of official documents’, searches were conducted at the determined addresses.
During the searches, 6 press cards, 5 press vehicle cards, 4 radio certificates, 4 radios, 11 press vests, 6 association membership cards, 1 association journalist certificate, 23 photocopies of documents, 1 note paper, 1 Police Newspaper authorization duty certificate, 1 pistol and 12 9mm cartridges were found.
