The World Bank takes steps to discuss its investment plans in the energy and infrastructure sectors in Niger.
Niger’s Prime Minister Mahaman Ali Lamine Zeine met with a World Bank delegation led by Han Fraeters, the institution’s resident representative in Niger. The meeting addressed infrastructure needs, particularly in the sectors of roads, energy, digital development, and urban growth. Franz Drees-Gross, Regional Director for Infrastructure in West and Central Africa, discussed support plans aimed at increasing electricity access and reducing energy costs in Niger, where the electricity access rate currently stands at 23%. The development of key sections of the RN1 and RN4 roads was also on the agenda.
