The expected new feature came to Whatsapp: You can undelete messages too!
META’s messaging application Whatsapp renews itself every day.
The app aims to provide users with a better experience with new updates.
Here is one of those updates, which can be called “life-saving” for some. If you have sent a message by mistake or if you regretted the message you sent and deleted it, and you only did this process “Delete from me”, it is possible to change the situation with this update.
Whatsapp sent a message to users this morning and announced that “Delete from me” can be undone.
According to the announcement made by Whatsapp, the “Delete from me” process can be undone. The message sent to users through the application included the following statements: “Have you ever wanted to delete a message from everyone but accidentally deleted it only from yourself? From now on, you can undo this action. Deleting has never been so enjoyable.”
In one of the last updates of Whatsapp, it was allowed to edit the messages sent within 15 minutes.
However, it was not possible to edit messages 15 minutes after they were sent.
In this case, it is possible to delete messages. But unless you backed up the messages, there was no way to get them back after deleting them.
Whatsapp conveys its features related to deleting and editing messages as follows:
Delete messages from everyone
“The Delete messages from everyone feature allows you to delete specific messages you have sent from an individual chat or a group chat. This feature is particularly useful if you have sent a message to the wrong chat or if there is an error in the message you sent. As a group administrator, you can delete problematic messages sent by other members from the chat.
Messages you have sent and deleted from everyone will be replaced by the following sentence:
“This message has been deleted”
Delete your sent messages from everyone
Open WhatsApp and go to the chat with the message you want to delete.
Press and hold the message. If you wish, you can delete multiple messages at the same time by selecting more messages.
Tap Delete from Everyone.
Group administrators can delete messages sent by another member of the group. With this feature, admins can manage their private groups and communities by deleting inappropriate or malicious messages or media from all members. Messages that an administrator deletes from everyone are replaced with the following sentence:
“This message was deleted by administrator [administrator name]”
Delete messages sent by another member in the group
Open WhatsApp and go to the chat with the message you want to delete.
Press and hold the message.
At the top of the Chats tab
Tap Delete from Everyone.
Note: Both you and the recipients of the message must be using the latest version of WhatsApp.
In the Photos app of recipients using WhatsApp for iOS, some media you send may remain saved even after the message is deleted from the WhatsApp chat.
Recipients will be able to see your message before it is deleted or if the deletion fails.
You will not be notified if the delete from everyone fails.
You have two days after the message has been sent to use the Delete from Public feature.
Only group administrators can delete messages sent by other members in groups.
Group administrators have two days after a message has been sent to use Delete Public on messages sent by other members.
Group members can see which administrator is using the Delete Public feature.
Messages deleted by group administrators cannot be recovered and the deletion cannot be appealed.
Deleting messages from yourself
You can delete your copies of messages you send or receive on your phone. Deleting messages from yourself does not affect your recipients’ chats in any way. They will still see your deleted messages on their chat screens. However, with the new feature, you can undo the message deletion and go back to the delete from everyone option
