Natural gas bill support is coming for low-income households. Under the Omnibus Law, the state will cover part of the natural gas bill of low-income households. This arrangement is also seen as a solution for those who wonder whether there will be a hike after the natural gas support ends.

After the 25 cubic meter natural gas subsidy expired at the beginning of May, it was wondered whether there would be a new hike. With the new regulation, low-income households will be able to spend the winter months without facing high bills.

Low-income households will pay only part of their natural gas bills, while the rest will be covered by the state. For example, while a high income household will be charged the full bill of 3 thousand TL, only 30 percent will be charged from a low-income household and the rest will be paid by the state.

Criteria to be determined

Within the scope of the support, a special study will be conducted to determine income groups. The details of this study will become clear in the coming days.

According to Show Haber, users interpreted this support as “It is not enough, but it will make a certain contribution”.

This new support is seen as an important step to ensure that low-income families do not have difficulty in paying their natural gas bills in the winter months.
