In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index closed the day at 10,899.28 points with a 0.04 percent gain in value and realized the highest daily closing of all time.
The BIST 100 index increased by 4.03 points compared to the previous close, while the total transaction volume was 127.6 billion liras.
The banking index lost 1.26 percent and the holding index lost 0.36 percent. Among the sector indices, sports gained the most with 4.40 percent, while banking lost the most.
Analysts stated that the effects of optimism that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) will cut interest rates this year continue in global equity markets, and said that the minutes of the Fed’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting and the financial results expected to be announced by Nvidia, one of the leading companies in the field of artificial intelligence technology, are in the focus of investors today.
Stating that the interest rate decision to be announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) at the Monetary Policy Committee and the consumer confidence index will be followed in the country tomorrow, analysts said that weekly unemployment applications, new home sales, consumer confidence index in the Eurozone, manufacturing industry and service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced in the US and Europe will stand out abroad.
Analysts noted that in technical terms, 11,000 and 11,200 levels are in the resistance position in the BIST 100 index, while 10,700 and 10,600 points are in the support position.
All economists participating in AA Finans’s expectations survey expect the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey to leave the policy rate unchanged at 50 percent. The median of economists’ year-end policy rate expectations was calculated as 45 percent.
