Sivasspor will shape its transfer policy according to whether striker Rey Manaj, who ventilated the net 18 times in the 2023-2024 season, will remain in the team or not.

Having re-signed goalkeeper Ali Şaşal Vural, defenders Alaaddin Okumuş and Murat Paluli, whose contracts expired in the internal transfer, the red-whites continue to work on external transfers.

Sivasspor Technical Director Bülent Uygun told AA correspondent that they want to create a squad that is more creative, plays offensively, presses forward, plays transition games well and suits Sivasspor with its individual talents.

Stating that Sivasspor Club President Mecnun Otyakmaz’s goals are always to play upwards, Uygun said, “As you know, there is no other club and club president who has written such a magnificent success story in his 21 years of presidency. Speaking for Anatolian clubs, as a president who went to the European Cup 6-7 times in 21 years, won the Turkish Cup and made the city of Sivas and the people of Sivas accustomed to success in this process, his goals are always to play upwards. He also wants to realize the right planning and projects in order to prevent Sivasspor from falling into the billion liras of debt that many other teams have fallen into.”

Rey Manaj will be effective in transfer policy
Stating that there are players in the team whose contracts have expired and they want them to stay, Uygun said, “I submitted a report to the management about them. However, the only different issue here is Rey Manaj. There are teams that really want Rey Manaj.”

Explaining that the transfer committee headed by Sivasspor Press Spokesman Gökhan Karagöl continues its work, Uygun said:

“In order to transfer good, high quality, cheap footballers who are worthy of Sivasspor, a process is going on in the transfer committee chaired by Gökhan Karagöl. I have had the chance to watch nearly 350 footballers so far, I have stopped watching them myself. The transfer committee will add the footballers who are in the best interest of Sivasspor to our team in the coming process. There are 6 footballers who play in the 3rd League and 2nd League who have a future. If Rey Manaj leaves, we want to complete the transfer by adding 7 foreigners and 5 Turkish footballers who know our league and have proven their quality.”

Emphasizing that they will determine the transfer policy according to whether the 27-year-old Albanian striker Rey Manaj, who completed the season with 18 goals, will stay in the team or not, Uygun said, “We will transfer young, alternative, talented foreigners, young and talented Turkish children and 2 quality football players who can be stars.”
