While condemning Israel’s attack on Rafah, the United Nations Security Council was invited to urgently convene and take a decision to put an end to Israel’s attacks.
In the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT), the petition titled “Declaration against Israel’s massacres in Rafah” signed by GNAT Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş was read.
In the resolution, it was stated that Israel under Netanyahu, which does not hesitate to disregard all the decisions of international courts and is known for its occupation and cruelty, continues to target civilian settlements, and despite the decision of the International Court of Justice to halt the operations, the brutality of the Zionists continues in front of the eyes of the whole world.
It was pointed out that “the oppression and persecution policies of Israel, which is doomed to remain alone in the face of the human front, against Gazans” have made the whole of Palestine uninhabitable.
Emphasizing that the occupying Israeli administration bombarded even the tents of Gazans in Rafah, which was shown as a safe area, with incendiary weapons and shed the blood of hundreds of innocents, the resolution included the following statements:
“Netanyahu and his gang, who disregard international treaties and the rules of law, recklessly exhibit a racism that is unique in the world with these murders. Israel’s actions, which are the most infamous example of crimes against humanity with the latest Rafah attack, go beyond the apartheid regime practices and turn into a genocide. It is incumbent upon every individual and every country that values human rights not to remain silent against these massacres and crimes against humanity.
Just as the front of humanity, led by conscientious and just peoples, condemned the Holocaust, today it condemns the massacres committed by the Zionist gang against Gazans and the Israeli administration by taking refuge behind the Holocaust. We once again condemn the massacres targeting civilians in disregard of international law. The Republic of Turkey, as a single voice with all its institutions, openly declares its stance in the international community to stop Israel and ensure a ceasefire. The hearts of our nation are with the innocent people of Gaza. We will never forget the images coming from Rafah and we will continue to make efforts to ensure that the perpetrators of the massacre are punished as they deserve.”
“We will continue to provide support to Palestine”
Emphasizing that Netanyahu and his gang will be held accountable for what they have done before international courts as well as being condemned in the conscience of humanity, the resolution called on all nations and parliaments of the world to stop Israel. The following was recorded in the resolution:
“The international community and states must continue to take just and necessary steps, such as the recognition of Palestine, and the Israeli administration must be completely isolated. The ultimate goal is to restore the Palestinian people to a life of human dignity. Therefore, first of all, action must be taken to stop the massacres immediately. As the Turkish Grand National Assembly, together with all relevant institutions, we will continue to support Palestine in the international community by diligently following the legal process. Those responsible for the recent Rafah attacks will not go unpunished. On this occasion, we call on the United Nations Security Council to convene urgently and adopt a resolution calling on Israel to cease its attacks. Human dignity and international law must be respected and the safety of innocent people must be ensured immediately.”
The resolution was unanimously adopted by the General Assembly.
