Baris Boyun, the leader of an organized crime organization wanted with a red bulletin, was captured in Viterbo, Italy, in an operation organized by a team of Italian and Turkish police.

An operation was organized around 04:00 in the morning in Viterbo, Italy. In the operation, 19 suspects, including the ringleader of the criminal organization Barış Boyun, were captured, 17 of whom were Turkish. Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared on his social media account, “An operation was carried out by the Italian police in Rome and Milan as a result of the joint efforts of our KOM Presidency, Interpol-Europol Department and Italian security authorities against the organized crime organization in Italy, which is wanted by the judicial authorities of our country with a Red Bulletin and whose ringleader is Barış Boyun.

A total of 19 suspects, including 17 Turkish and 2 Italian members of an organized crime organization, including the ringleader Barış Boyun, were arrested in the operation. I would like our beloved nation to know that we are determined to bring organized crime organizations to justice, no matter what size they are, no matter which country they fled to. We will take their breath away. Wanted by the judicial authorities of our country for 23 different crimes, including establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, intentional murder, with a total of 56 separate criminal records, including 3 murders; intentional injury, opposition to Law No. 6,136, looting, etc. An operation was organized by the Italian police in Rome and Milan within the scope of the activities carried out jointly by the Italian police and the KOM Presidency, Interpol Europol Department, Istanbul Police Directorate, Tekirdağ Police Directorate, Sakarya Police Directorates; Italian police conducted an operation in Rome and Milan. In the operation, 19 suspects, including the ringleader Barış Boyun, who are members of an organized crime organization, were arrested.”

317 SUSPECTS CAPTURED SO FAR

Minister Yerlikaya continued his post as follows: “In 26 separate operations carried out so far in Istanbul, Izmir, Tekirdağ, Sakarya, and Kütahya against the fugitive peace neck organized crime organization, 317 people were arrested. Of these; 175 were arrested and a judicial control decision was issued for 100 of them. I would like to congratulate the KOM Directorate, the Interpol-Europol Department and the Italian security authorities. Wherever they are in the world, we will continue to catch those who disturb the peace of our beloved nation and commit crimes and take their breath away. Our fight against organized crime organizations will continue with perseverance and determination.”
