The consultation process regarding the election results continues in the AK Party. In a meeting with his staff, President Erdoğan emphasized that they will definitely make a change within the party. The first resignation in this process came from Rize, where he received the highest vote with 54.7% in the local elections.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made important statements at the AK Party Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting. Coming together with his staff, Erdoğan emphasized that change within the party was inevitable.

President Erdoğan made the following statements;

“We continue to consult the election results. New steps will be taken as the results, research and analysis mature. When the time and place comes; we will make the change without breaking, pouring or offending.”

These words clearly show that Erdoğan is not satisfied with the election results and needs a renewal in the party. Although he did not give any clear information on how and when the change would take place, Erdoğan added that it would be done “without breaking, spilling or offending”.

The first resignations came from Rize, followed by Adıyaman and Batman

The change in the AK Party, which was also voiced by President Erdoğan, has started in some provinces. The first resignation came from Rize, where the AK Party received the highest number of votes in the local elections with 54.7 percent. Immediately afterwards, the provincial presidents of Adıyaman and Batman announced their resignations.

The change in AK Party organizations was also reflected in metropolitan cities

Some department heads in Ankara provincial presidency were also changed. According to the news of Türkiye Newspaper, it was learned that the change in AK Party organizations will also be reflected in metropolitan cities. In Ankara, the Provincial Secretary, Deputy Provincial Chairman in charge of Civil Society and Public Relations, Deputy Provincial Chairman in charge of R&D, and Deputy Chairman of Information and Communication Technologies were also changed.
