Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek will meet with investors and hold official meetings in Singapore for two days.
Minister Mehmet Şimşek will complete his visit to Singapore, which started today, tomorrow evening.
Şimşek will meet with many investors and hold bilateral official meetings for two days in Singapore.
Şimşek, who will meet with Singapore Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong, will also be received by Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
During these meetings, trade and economic relations between the two countries will be discussed.
Şimşek, who will meet with representatives of the real sector in Asia, will also meet with the managers of global investment funds as part of the “road show” he will organize for the first time in Asia.
In these meetings, Şimşek will explain Turkey’s economic program and invite companies and funds to invest in the country. The companies that Şimşek will meet with are also important in terms of direct investment potential.
Singapore, one of the most important trade and finance centers of Southeast Asia, has a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with Turkey.
The location of the two countries is also strategically important for each other. While Turkish companies see Singapore as a base for the Asian market, Turkey is seen as an important center for Singapore-based companies to access the European Union market.
He will also attend the FATF General Assembly
Minister Şimşek is also expected to attend the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) General Assembly meeting in Singapore.
Şimşek is scheduled to deliver a speech at the meeting, where Turkey’s status on the FATF’s gray list will also be discussed.
