Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky met in Ankara and made statements.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky during a meeting in Ankara. Emphasizing that the war in Ukraine has increased global security concerns, Fidan said that they support Ukraine’s territorial integrity, but that the war has now turned into a larger conflict.
Noting that global divisions are deepening, Fidan said that Russia is strengthening its own alliance and Europe is involved in another alliance. Emphasizing that this situation increases the risk of proliferation and the use of weapons of mass destruction, Fidan emphasized the importance of dialogue and peace talks.
On the issue of migration, Fidan expressed Turkey’s sensitivity, noting that the country receives a large number of refugees and hosts more than the European Union countries. He said that they cooperate with EU countries in the fight against migration and work closely with migrant countries. Emphasizing that socio-economic conditions are important in managing migration, Fidan drew attention to the necessity of international cooperation on this issue.
