Mehdi Muttakifer, Director General of Planning and Social Development at Iran’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, announced that 150 different centers in the country offer matchmaking services to those who want to get married.
Speaking to the Iranian Workers’ News Agency ILNA, Muttakifer said that there are 150 licensed matchmaking centers in the country for those who want to get married and that these centers are inspected.
Muttakifer warned against social media sites and said, “One of the most important reasons for the delay in young people getting married is the inability to find a suitable partner. With the help of these centers, young people can find the person they want more easily.”
Stating that marriage and family counseling services are offered in the spouse finding centers, the Iranian official stated that they support the couples in this process.
Muttakifer reminded that last year, matchmaking centers were opened in 33 locations in 15 provinces in the country. He also noted that some centers are located in mosques and cultural centers and provide free services, while others offer paid services.
