Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya stated that 103 thousand 45 Syrians voluntarily returned to their country in the last 1 year and the total number of those who returned between 2016-2024 is 658 thousand 463.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya came together with Ankara representatives of media organizations at an evaluation meeting. Announcing that a total of 66 thousand 92 personnel, 37 thousand 810 daily, will be on duty during the Eid al-Adha holiday, Yerlikaya said, “1063 radars, 290 average speed violation detection systems, 318 electronic control systems will work on a 24-hour basis.”
Minister Yerlikaya stated that 585 organized crime organizations were crushed in the last 1 year and said the following:
“1451 operations were carried out against organized crime organizations in 1 year, 10 thousand 285 people were detained, 3 thousand 891 were arrested, 585 organized crime organizations were dismantled. 106 billion liras worth of assets were seized.”
Explaining that 5 thousand 543 operations were carried out against FETÖ, 1607 operations against DAESH, 614 operations against leftist terrorist organizations and 49 high-level terrorists were neutralized in 1 year, Minister Yerlikaya said, “160 terrorist acts, including 119 bombings, were prevented in 1 year.” Minister of Interior Yerlikaya also reported that 44 thousand 937 operations were carried out against the production and trade of drugs and 246 thousand 491 operations were carried out against users in 1 year.

Explaining that 191 thousand 450 illegal immigrants were prevented from crossing the border in 1 year, Minister Yerlikaya said that there are 3 million 114 thousand 99 Syrians under temporary protection, 1 million 125 thousand 623 residence permits, 234 thousand 528 foreigners under international protection, totaling 4 million 474 thousand 250 foreigners with legal right to stay in Turkey.
