The identities of 10 people who lost their lives in a chain accident involving 4 vehicles, including a bus, in Mersin’s Tarsus district have been announced.
The accident occurred yesterday evening at Yenice Kütüklü locality of Mersin-Adana Highway in Tarsus district of Mersin. According to the information received, a passenger bus with 34 SD 8821 license plate coming from Adana direction slipped in rainy weather, overturned and crossed into the opposite lane, causing a chain accident involving 4 vehicles, including a car, a pickup truck and a truck.
Many police, gendarmerie, health and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the accident scene. In the accident, 10 people lost their lives and 39 people were injured. The 39 injured people were taken to hospitals in Adana and Mersin by ambulances. The bodies were taken to Tarsus State Hospital morgue.
The identities of the dead were revealed
The identities of the 10 people who died in the accident have been determined. It is learned that Serhat Taraman, Elif Taraman, İpek Taraman, Ozan Kılıç, Birsen Çiftsüren, Sultan Acet, Taha Acet, Mehmet Kaplan, Halil Şimşek and Ayla Çelik Teymen were among those who lost their lives.
It is reported that the body of Ayla Çelik Teymen is still in the hospital, Halil Şimşek’s body was sent to Adana and the bodies of 8 other people were sent to Diyarbakır.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
