Minister Uraloğlu stated that the ticket ceiling price for domestic direct flights will be applied as 2 thousand lira for 80 percent of the tickets on the flight until July 31, and 3 thousand 250 lira for the remaining 20 percent as a result of the sale of these tickets, and as of August 1, it will be 2 thousand 500 lira for 80 percent and 4 thousand lira for the remaining 20 percent.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made a statement about the ceiling prices of airline tickets.

Uraloğlu responded to DEM Party Diyarbakır MP Serhat Eren’s written parliamentary question regarding the cancellation of flights and ticket prices.

Uraloğlu stated that if the rights determined by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation are not offered to the passengers, it is ensured that the procedures are carried out in accordance with the legislation and that the enterprises pay compensation to the passengers in case of cancellations due to technical or operational reasons, and that administrative fines are imposed on the enterprises from the upper limit determined by the Turkish Civil Aviation Law due to violation of the legislation.

Minister Uraloğlu stated that as of the end of March this year, 1413 applications regarding flight cancelations were made across Turkey.

Pointing out that the ceiling price application in ticket fares is carried out under the coordination of their Ministry, Uraloğlu said:

“For domestic direct flights, the ticket ceiling price will be 2 thousand liras for 80 percent of the tickets on a flight between May 1 and July 31, 2024, and 3 thousand 250 liras for the remaining 20 percent as a result of the sale of these tickets. As of August 1, 2024, it will be applied as 2 thousand 500 liras for 80 percent of the tickets on a flight and 4 thousand liras for the remaining 20 percent as a result of the sale of these tickets.”

Emphasizing that airline companies are commercial organizations operating under free market conditions, Uraloğlu said, “Issues such as starting flights to airports, adding additional lines, changing flight hours, performing flights with connecting and non-stop flights are under the control of the airline companies themselves, and the airlines determine the flight hours themselves within the framework of fleet structures, fleet availability, slot hours and connections of the aircraft in their fleets and make requests.”

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that in case of flight applications, the applications are evaluated by the Ministries within the scope of the relevant legislation.
