According to Sabah Newspaper; the Portuguese coach came to Istanbul on April 19 for THY’s new commercial. Upon hearing this, Beşiktaş management arranged a meeting with the agent Jorge Mendes, who also mediated Fernando Santos.

The parties met last month at a hotel next to Beşiktaş’s stadium. At the meeting, where second president Yücel and accompanying executives Onur Göçmez and Burak Aslan were present, the famous coach was briefed on the team’s situation, transfer budget and future plans.
