Tekirdağ Governorship made a statement regarding the news in the media in recent days about the import of GMO corn from abroad to Tekirdağ and the irregular imports by changing the results of the analyzes made in the laboratories of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture.
In a written statement made by Tekirdağ Governorate, “There is a need to make a statement regarding the news about the alleged ‘irregular import transactions’ in some press and media organs and social media accounts about our province. After the determinations made by our institutions regarding the incident alleged to have occurred within our Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry reached our Governorship, a Ministry Inspector was requested for an immediate administrative investigation and a criminal complaint was filed to the Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. The results of the investigations carried out meticulously by the Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and Ministry Inspectors will be shared with the public. It is respectfully announced to the public.”
