“A fire occurred, which we think was caused by electrical components”
Governor Seddar Yavuz, who came to the scene, conveyed his wishes for the past in his statement.
Stating that ships are being built in the shipyards in the region, Yavuz said, “We had previously launched and sent off a ship in the same place. A fire occurred on the ship, which was launched a week ago and the last tests were carried out, which we think started from the electrical components.”
Yavuz stated that teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and noted that 2 personnel were trapped in the fire and the personnel trying to rescue them were also affected by smoke.
Stating that 2 trapped people were rescued as a result of the work, Yavuz said, “Our first aid teams intervened quickly and 4 people were transferred to the hospital. The condition of 2 of our brothers is a little more serious than the others. Our Provincial Health Director and all our physicians are making the necessary interventions. Our hope is that there will be no loss of life.”
