‘WE ARE DEPOSITING THE EID AL-ADHA BONUS OF PENSIONERS BETWEEN 10 AND 14 JUNE’

Explaining that they have taken many historic steps to improve working life so far, President Erdoğan said:

“We are the country with the most inclusive, widespread and encompassing social security system in the world. We have faithfully adhered to our principle of not crushing the employees, civil servants, pensioners and wage earners by inflation until today. The minimum wage, which is effective as of January 1, 2024, was set at 17 thousand 2 liras net. Thus, the net minimum wage increase rate compared to the previous period was 49 percent, and the increase rate compared to January 2023 was 100 percent. As promised, we increased the salaries of our civil servants to a minimum of 22 thousand liras in July 2023 and 33 thousand liras in January 2024. In the 7th Term Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, an agreement was reached in all 11 service branches, except for the general proportional increase. We made a net increase of 82 percent in the lowest pension compared to January 2023. In October 2023, we paid 5 thousand liras each to all of our pensioners as a one-off payment. The pension bonus we pay on Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays increased by 50 percent to 3 thousand liras as of 2024. We are depositing the Eid al-Adha bonus into the accounts of our pensioners between June 10-14. Thus, we will make a total payment of 42 billion to our pensioners in a single item. We ensured that the promotional amounts paid to our pensioners were increased under the leadership of our Public Banks. We held the Common Sharing Platform and Labor Council with our unions, employers and all representatives of working life.”
