Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri started production in the field of cleaning papers with the factory it established in Morocco in 2022. The company has now announced that it has acquired Jeesr Industries, Morocco’s leading tissue paper manufacturer.

Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri, one of Turkey’s leading companies with its Selpak and Solo brands, has acquired local Jeesr Industries, a tissue paper manufacturer in Morocco, as part of its regional expansion strategy. With a production capacity of 30 thousand tons per year, Jeesr’s portfolio includes Pandoo, Dalaa by Wooly, Sany and Eversilk brands.

Eczacıbaşı Group Chairman Bülent Eczacıbaşı emphasized that this acquisition by Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri shows the importance of localization while growing regionally and said, “Our acquisition of Jeesr Industries is an indication of our strong belief in the Moroccan economy. We are very pleased with the progress of our tissue paper business in the region. We continue to closely monitor investment and acquisition opportunities in this region for our other business lines.”

Abdallah Badaa, Chairman and CEO of Jeesr Industries, said:

“We have been operating in the FMCG sector in Morocco and Africa for more than two decades. We are proud to be a leader with our strong brands in the diaper, feminine and adult care products and tissue categories. As the leader and creator of the tissue paper market in its home country, Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri has made significant contributions to the development of the Moroccan tissue paper sector in a short time. We are pleased that this acquisition is between two companies that have achieved the same success in their sectors in different countries.”

Eczacıbaşı Tüketim Ürünleri CEO Bülent Kozlu stated that they see the Moroccan market as one of the milestones of their international growth strategy and said, “With a population of 38 million and a steadily growing economy, Morocco is one of the most promising countries in Africa and the Middle East. We have clearly observed the increasing demand of the Moroccan consumer for innovative and quality products in the interest shown in Selpak’s three-ply tissue paper. Now, we are taking a second step in Morocco, expanding our brand portfolio and moving to vertically integrated production with Jeesr’s paper production. Jeesr Industries is the leading company in the tissue category in the Moroccan market, having created strong tissue brands such as Pandoo, Dalaa by Wooly and Sany. The company’s tissue production machine and converting facilities will enable us to further expand our production capacity to meet Moroccan consumers’ growing demand for toilet paper, paper towels and tissues. After completing the integration of the two companies, we will continue our investments in Morocco.”
