Driver trying to stop his sliding taxi is hit by a car

In Eskişehir, security camera footage of the incident in which the driver was injured when he was trying to stop his taxi that started to slide because he did not pull the handbrake emerged. In the footage, it is seen that the taxi passed over the driver and those around rushed to help.

The incident occurred last Friday evening on Adaklı Street in Büyükdere Neighborhood of Odunpazarı district. Allegedly, K.D., the driver of a commercial taxi with 26 T0 469 license plate, did not pull the handbrake and entered the market. The driver, who saw that his vehicle was slipping, was injured by being trapped under the car while trying to stop the taxi. The injured was taken out from under the vehicle after the meticulous work of the fire brigade and taken to hospital.

Security camera footage of the incident has emerged. The footage shows the efforts of the taxi driver who wants to stop his vehicle accelerating downhill. The driver, who tries to stop the vehicle by getting in front of it, is soon overtaken by his own taxi. In the same footage, the panic and panic moment is visible as the people around rush to help the taxi driver. Considering that there were cafes and crowds around, it is clear that the incident was luckily narrowly avoided.

Hüseyin Gazi Can, who said that his nephew was looking after the business that the taxi driver tried to enter that night, described the incident to İhlas News Agency reporter as follows:
“The taxi driver was standing in front of the shop, he did not set the handbrake. While trying to enter the shop, he saw the car slipping. While he was trying to stop the car, the taxi took the driver under him. The cafe owners and people below rushed to his aid, and of course the fire brigade saved him.”
