While fire brigades intervened in the fire in the building with 24 people, the building was located on a narrow street 2 meters wide, making it difficult to extinguish the fire. It was stated that at least 14 people died and 6 people were injured in the fire, which was brought under control in about 1 hour.
Authorities assessed that the fire broke out in the electric bicycle shop on the first floor of the building and announced that a detailed investigation has been launched.
According to data from the General Statistics Office of Vietnam, a total of 1,555 fires and explosions occurred in the country in the first four months of this year. The fires and explosions, which killed 28 people and injured 26 people, caused material damage of approximately 3.5 million dollars.
