In a tragic incident in Ankara, deputy commissioner Veysel Öztürk (33) killed his wife Hasret Öztürk (33) and their children Nisanur (15) and Mustafa Öztürk (13) by committing suicide. The bodies of the deceased were buried in Yozgat.
Veysel Öztürk was serving in the Hatay Security Directorate and had come to his home in Ankara on leave yesterday morning. During an argument at home, Öztürk shot his wife and children with his personal pistol and then committed suicide by shooting himself with the same weapon. In this terrible incident, his wife and son died immediately, while their daughter Nisanur Öztürk could not be saved despite interventions at the hospital.
An investigation at the house revealed a burnt laptop belonging to Veysel Öztürk and a suicide note. The note contained the economic problems Öztürk was experiencing. The laptop and the note were taken for examination by security units.
The bodies were sent to Kazankaya village in Yozgat’s Aydıncık district. Here, first the funeral prayer was held for the body of deputy commissioner Veysel Öztürk and he was buried. An hour later, the funeral prayers of his wife and children were performed and they were buried side by side.
