Applications for the National Intelligence Academy 2024/2025 Academic Year Fall Term graduate programs have started.

According to the statement made by the National Intelligence Academy, applications will be received from today until July 5 at “basvuru.mia.edu.tr”.
The Academy, which will only offer postgraduate education, will admit students to two graduate programs in the first year.
Candidates will be able to apply to the “Intelligence Studies Master’s Program with Thesis” and “Security Studies Master’s Program with Thesis” within the Institute of Intelligence and Security Studies.
Only citizens of the Republic of Turkey will be able to apply to the graduate programs opened within the Academy.
Applicants must have graduated or be in the process of graduation from a 4-year formal undergraduate program with a GPA of at least 2.5 and must score at least 75 points from ALES (ORAL/EA/AAY).
Candidates are also required to score at least 80 in English YDS or e-YDS or an equivalent score from international English exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM.
Candidates must also submit a letter of intent when applying to the programs.
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements will take a written scientific exam and an interview. The first 15 students with the highest score according to the weighted score calculation among the candidates will be entitled to enroll in the program as noble.

“Academic experts will be trained”

The National Intelligence Academy aims to train academically qualified experts who have the capacity for critical thinking and analysis in this field in line with Turkey’s strategic priorities by approaching the field of intelligence from an academic perspective, who will contribute to Turkey-centered academic knowledge production, and who can read the changes in the world correctly.
Students graduating from the Academy will be able to work in the private sector, academia and state institutions.
Students at the National Intelligence Academy will also have the opportunity to take part in various research projects during their education.
The Academy conducts scientific research projects in areas such as intelligence, security, strategy, regional studies, cyber and electronic intelligence through its research centers, and organizes workshops, symposiums and various scientific activities on related topics.
The results of research and other scientific activities are reported and shared with the public.

“A broad perspective will be provided”

Students participating in the Intelligence Studies master’s program are expected to gain competence in the theory and methodology of intelligence studies.
It is envisaged that students will gain a broader perspective by taking courses from disciplines such as economics, sociology, psychology, communication and international relations related to the field of intelligence.
Thus, it is aimed to improve the scientific and theoretical infrastructure of intelligence studies in Turkey, to encourage academic studies that will reveal visionary and innovative ideas in this field, and to support and popularize critical thinking in areas related to intelligence studies.

“It is aimed to train experts”

The Security Studies master’s program aims to train experts who have the capacity to comprehend, analyze and develop new methods in the context of today’s changing world system and new threat perceptions.
In this context, students are expected to take courses on security theory and methodology as well as courses on hybrid threats, terrorism, migration, conflict resolution, strategy and geopolitics.
Thus, it is aimed to produce a perspective that can develop new approaches in the face of emerging global and regional threats and to increase the capacity of experts trained in security studies in Turkey and to provide a significant increase in the production of knowledge in this field.
