Memiş Kütükcü, President of the Supreme Organization of Organized Industrial Zones (OSBÜK), said, “Our employment number exceeded 2 million 600 thousand people.”
OSBÜK held its 22nd Ordinary General Assembly in Ankara. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, OSBÜK President Memiş Kütükcü and many industrialists and businessmen from various provinces attended the general assembly held at TOBB Twin Towers. Speaking at the general assembly, Mr. Kütükcü stated that they are one with every member of the industrial community in 81 provinces and said, “As we are one, we have managed to overcome obstacles and difficulties one by one. We worked hard, worked hard and exported a lot. We have made our organized industrial zones the strongest representative of our production community. We have become the locomotive of industrial production, exports and imports. Our success has crossed borders, we have set an example to the world. Since 2020, we have gone through very challenging periods. We have faced a protracted pandemic. Geopolitical risks, which also had an extraordinary impact on the economy, have increased. The circle of instability around us has become more and more heated. The Russia-Ukraine war is still ongoing. These wars affected our organized industrial zones.”
Kütükcü said that as organized industrial zones, they did not surrender to the problems despite the wars and crises in the world, and stated that they did not focus on negativity and always said production and export.

Underlining that they pioneered Turkey’s inclusion in global supply chains, Kütükcü said, “Today, the number of OIZs has reached 403 in total, 361 of which are affiliated to our Ministry of Industry and Technology and 42 of which are affiliated to our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The number of our factories in OIZs has reached over 67 thousand. In the last 5 years alone, we have provided employment for 700 thousand more people in OIZs, bringing our employment number to more than 2 million 600 thousand people. OIZs have become the locomotive of Turkey’s industry by realizing 45 percent of Turkey’s total industrial production.”

Emphasizing that they contribute to the construction of a strong and prosperous Turkey with planned industrial areas of research and innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship culture and qualified human resources in the programs and projects implemented as the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Minister of Industry and Technology Kacır said, “We reached the highest export level of our hundred-year republican history with 260 billion dollars. While our employment exceeded 32.6 million, the unemployment rate decreased to the lowest level of the last decade with 8.5 percent. Exhibiting uninterrupted and stable economic growth for the last 15 quarters, Turkey continues to be a strong and reliable actor of the global economy with its geostrategic location, young and qualified human resources and strong logistics infrastructure.”
