Real estate and investment expert Mert Başaran gave an important warning to those who are thinking of selling their house and investing it in deposits. Başaran emphasized that although this may seem like a short-term gain, it can lead to big losses in the long run.

While many investors turn to various investment instruments to evaluate their assets, Mert Başaran, a real estate and investment expert who attracts attention with his statements, made important warnings to investors by saying “experience is fixed”.

Housing sales are declining

According to official data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the decline in house sales continues. In April this year, house sales in Turkey decreased by 11.8 percent compared to the same period last year and fell to 75,569.

The downward trend in deposit interest rates gained momentum

The decline in deposit rates following the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey’s withholding tax decision had stabilized with the new reserve requirement measures. However, the downward trend in deposit rates accelerated again.

According to the details shared, deposit rates, which peaked at 68.2 percent a few weeks ago, fell to 61.8 percent last week.

With this decrease, 1-3 month deposit rates decreased by 2 points. In the last two weeks, there has been a decrease of more than 6 points in total.

Economist Mert Başaran, who attracted attention with his statements, made statements about the sale of housing and the evaluation of money in interest.

Your money can melt every year

Mert Başaran, who answered the question posed to him about selling his house and renting with interest income, said that the investment to be made in this way will bring great mistakes. Addressing those who are thinking of selling their house and renting with interest, the investment expert said that the investor can survive for a maximum of 1 year, and that the interest investment will melt every year.

“Fixed with experience”

Mert Başaran said:

Don’t ever put your property in interest and live a temporary reign for 1-2 years because the money you get 44 percent is actually not the money you deserve, it is the money that inflation deserves. If you pocket the right of inflation, that money melts. This is fixed by experience.”
