Businesses operating in the tea sector in Rize have come under scrutiny.
With the start of the tea season, Rize Treasurer’s Office also took action. The companies that buy tea from the producer were inspected to see whether they comply with the document order, whether they buy unregistered products and whether they provide unregistered employment. As a result of the audits, 12 taxpayers were fined.
In the statement made by the Rize Treasurer’s Office, it was underlined that the audits will continue intensively and the following statements were used: “In order to control the document order regarding the movement of goods before the enterprises operating in the tea sector, which is the locomotive of the economy of our province, and to record the unregistered movements, effective, widespread and intensive tax audits will be carried out in every shoot period of the 2024 tea season as in every period.”
In the continuation of the statement, where it is underlined that the companies will be audited on document order, unregistered products and unregistered employment, “This importance will be given, and actual inventory work will be carried out on businesses that do not comply with the document order when necessary. As a result of the audits carried out by the Rize Treasurer’s Office, 12 taxpayers have been issued penalty minutes and the audits continue. In this respect, it is important for our taxpayers to comply with the provisions of the Tax Laws regarding the document order in order to face any penal sanctions.”
