In the TRNC, the Minimum Wage Determination Commission determined the second minimum wage increase of 2024.
TRNC Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu announced in a statement after the Commission meeting that the minimum wage was determined as 34 thousand 70 TL gross and 29 thousand 640 TL net. Gardiyanoğlu said that the minimum wage, which is valid as of May 1, 2024, was determined by a majority vote.
The minimum wage will also be applied as 7 thousand 862 TL 30 kurus per week, 1 thousand 572 TL 46 kurus per day and 196 TL 55 kurus per hour.
Thus, the minimum wage will be increased by 23.5 percent.
While the advisory decision of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission was published in the Official Gazette today, there is a 10-day period for objection to the decision.
The Commission had set the first minimum wage of the year at 27 thousand 587 TL gross and 24 thousand TL net on January 12.
