The government and the Ministry are working across various areas, from accessibility arrangements for citizens with disabilities to rehabilitation and employment.

As part of employment efforts, the Disabled Public Personnel Selection Exam (EKPSS) was implemented in 2012 to ensure the active participation of people with disabilities in the workforce, just as they are encouraged to participate in all other areas of life.

The Ministry encourages the placement of people with disabilities into positions suitable for their education through EKPSS and also covers the exam fees for disabled citizens. To be eligible for EKPSS, applicants must have at least a 40% disability rate for adults.

As a result of the government’s efforts to increase the participation of people with disabilities in the workforce, the number of disabled public servants has increased significantly, from 5,777 in 2002 to 70,878 today, representing a 12-fold increase.

Special Sheltered Workplaces for People with Disabilities
Additionally, the Ministry has established Sheltered Workplaces, where working environments are specially designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities, particularly those with intellectual and mental disabilities who face challenges in the open labor market.

With these employment initiatives, the Ministry supports people with disabilities in becoming self-sufficient individuals who have control over their own lives and integrate into society with confidence. For each disabled individual employed in a sheltered workplace, the Ministry provides a wage incentive.
